This year will mark my tenth anniversary of freelancing full time, and my 25th anniversary of freelancing overall (I built my first commercial website in 2000 whilst at school, for what felt like the princely sum of £20 per page). To mark this occasion, I’m offering people the opportunity to Ask Me Anything (AMA) which you might want to know about freelancing.
Tips for questions:
- Be as specific as possible. ‘How do you find freelancing?’ is a very open question and difficult to answer whereas ‘how do you separate work and personal life’ is more specific.
- Please don’t ask for advice, e.g. around law, tax or finances (or anything that’s regulated). I don’t mind answering questions about how much I charge or how I saw money for my tax bill, but I can’t tell you how much you should charge, whether you should use a limited company, how to sue a client for non-payment etc.
You can send questions via email to paul@phpdeveloper.org.uk and I’ll reply privately. If you’re on Mastodon, you can ask me in response to the toot about this post.
